Where Art Begins with A Day's Dream
Tracy Dupuis Roland
My work is about exploring simplified shapes and exaggerated colors to form land and cityscapes, portraits and still life paintings. My paintings purposefully have the look of an electronic painting, because it is exactly how they begin. I enjoy the vast flexibility and dimensional aspect of computer painting, yet I’m not willing to give up the texture and touchable quality of traditional paintings. To me, It makes the perfect marriage to put the two together.
More important to me than the process of my artwork is my need to help others. The growth and satisfaction of making a difference by donating time, art, knowledge and services to vital causes fuels my passion to create. In my life, music and art have been the catalyst for growth and I strive to encourage others to be "saved" and to help others through their gifts whenever possible.
I moved to Spokane, Washington in 2010, after residing near Portland, Oregon for over 10 years. I was born and raised near Los Angeles but moved to the Pacific Northwest in 1988.
